ABOUT ME

Every piece of Susan Rose China is hand crafted in Stoke-on-Trent by skilled china makers and designed and decorated in my Northamptonshire studio.

I live and work in a historic mill house on the banks of the River Nene with my family and a bevy of dogs, pigs and chickens, and two Burmese cats named Basil and Cybil. My surroundings are my inspiration: from my favourite walk with the dogs along Badger Way, to the wildlife that lives in, under and above my gardens.

The English countryside - its preservation and restoration - has been my lifelong passion.

I studied at the Chelsea School of Art and hold a Bachelors Honours degree, in graphics, from Central School of Art and Design. After graduating, I spent eighteen years freelancing for the National Trust, Golfar & Hughes and Sloane Square Tiles. During this time, I was fortunate enough to work with clients such as The General Trading Company, Jane Churchill and Nina Campbell. However my favourite medium has always been English Bone China and this had led me to establish Susan Rose China.

I hope that you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.
